1. Scripture: Psalms 119 ESV

Psalms 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible with 176 verses;

I challenge you to read it over the next few days if you are up for it. :)

2. Question to ponder: which hindrance does stop us from delighting in God's words?

Possible hindrances: sin, worldly desires, worldy worries, trials, tribulations, unfaithful/unbelieving heart, etc.

3. The skinny on Psalms 119

1) Grace is perceived to be always good whereas the law is bad? Not so.

2) Jesus came not to destroy the law but to "give a full expression to it" ( Dr. Betts's wording. Cf. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%205%3A17&version=KJV )

3) Judaizers insisted on following through on the Mosaic law such as circumcision; however, Paul denounces the practice and points out that keeping God's commandment is what it counts.

( Cf. (1) Philippians 3:1-8 ESV:

4) Psalms 119 is about delighting in God's words, keeping His  Commandments with gladness, and how joyful His Word is. God's Word is authoritative, eternal, truthful and powerful. Cf. Pslams 19, which is also about delighting in God's Word.

Cf. Matthew 24:35 KJV:

Have a blessed day every one. Amen.
