'Life Sentence' was what presiding judge Ji, Gi-Yeon (지귀연) announced at the end of one hour mulling over the insurrection charge levied against former president Yoon, Seok Yeol. Ji's based reasoning and quoted historical anecdotes, particularly regarding an arrest attempt incident of 5 parliament members by Charles I of England, was categorically incoherent, incorrect, and nonsensical to say the least.
Overall, throughout the sentencing procedure, Ji appeared to be tense, a bit hyper noticed by somewhat elevated pitch and tone of his voice, and nervous. The weight of momentous history et al was obviously weighing heavy on him, but most of all what he knew that he would be doing shortly, which was to betray his own conscience and the trust of his own nation and people placed on him. Several others accused of carrying out "insurrection" order in the aftermath of Declaration of Emergency Martial Law on Dec. 3, 2025 by then-president Yoon were also sentenced a long term imprisonment as well.
(Note: from my understanding the ruling Democratic Party (one might as well call it the Labor/Communist Party totally controlled by Red China/North Korea, which has taken a full control over the National Assembly through series of rigged elections, had recently instituted a Special Appeals Court, whose sole purpose is to make sure that ousted Yoon would be found guilty and sentenced a capital punishment no matter what.
In addition, the National Assembly whose vast majority of constituents benefited greatly from the rigged elections as mentioned just passed a new bylaw (2-20-2026) which prohibits anyone who is found guilty of insurrection from being pardoned for the transgression. It seems that "they" are determined to mortally punish Yoon and his lieutenants for having dared challenge their regime.
All in all, since Mon, JaeIn unlawfully took a residency in the Blue House, another beneficiary of a rigged general election, thousands of laws have been altered or passed in order to benefit the stated goals of communist agendas...)
Personally, I was not surprised at all, and it is pretty much what I expected; I did not think that 'death penalty' was forthcoming as the prosecutor's office was seeking against Yoon. I mean, the South Korean court could not have been that brazen and that outright communist. Yet. However, it will for sure reveal its true colors to the rest of the unsuspecting or totally ignorant (in slumber) populace soon enough.

In essence, this is a harbinger of what to come in coming months and years as S. Korea is now in full transition racing toward becoming a full-fledged communist state controlled by Red China and North Korea. South Korean citizens, expatriates and global netizens should get used to seeing this type of communist Kangaroo Court being held from South Korea in much increased pace and frequency as millions of S Koreans are expected to flee the country before the complete takeover by the Reds is completed. At the moment the patriotic Koreans who'd stop at nothing to save their country find themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place so to speak.
